Braden is playing soccer this season with the Gilbert Youth Soccer Assoc. The boys have orange jerseys and chose to be called Tha Bombs! Too funny..I guess this is the name you get when you let a bunch of kindergartners decide!!
Braden had his 1st soccer game this week! He had so much fun playing and did a really great job with it only being his 2nd time playing with a team! He was so cute on the field, he had smile on his face the entire time! The coach even emailed me and said how AWESOME he did for it being his 1st game!

Way to go Braden!

Dr. Alva's All Stars

Today the boys had their first day of school! Blake is in Ms. Jenni's AM preschool class, and Braden is in Ms. Morganroth's full day kindergarten! The boys are so excited to be going to school in a new neighborhood and meeting new friends!
Braden you are growing up too fast for mom! I can't believe you are starting kindergarten and will be gone at school all day! I am so excited what your school years will bring!

Crazy Nap Schedule

Since I started my crazy night schedule I HAVE to take naps some days of the week. Well the boys mostly oblige and are very good about taking naps and do not cause havoc when I am sleeping. One particular day however, they did! I wake up to Blake handing me toys, of course! I get up and Braden has my camera, I'm like Braden we don't play with moms camera. Braden says well Blake was getting into things and getting into your purse and stuff so I was taking pictures of everything he was doing so I could show you when you woke up!! Oh well in that case...thanks Braden...way to look out for mom!

Bike Swtich

Braden got a big boy bike for Christmas...it is a 18" and kinda big for him to learn to ride with no training wheels. Blaker hopped on Braden's big 18" bike the other day and could actually ride it! We decided to let Braden take the training wheels of Blake's bike and try to learn that bike since it is smaller and closer to the ground. After about 20 minutes of Josh starting him off and holding the back of his seat...he did it! Now Braden is doing awesome riding the little bike and no longer needs any help at all! In a few weeks we hope to let him try his BIG boy bike with no training wheels so the boys can switch back. In the meantime the boys don't seem to mind the new bike switch!

Braden just loves preschool and surprises us everyday with new things he learns. It is a weird thing when your kids start learning things from others that mom and dad didn't teach them. I'm still getting used to that! I will be like oh where did you learn that...at preschool mom! One day in the car ride home Braden recited The Pledge of Allegiance, it caught Josh and I both off guard...so we just had to record it!

Preschool

Today was Blakes first day of preschool. He just turned 3, so I'm a little sad to see him go, but it will definately be good for him! Blake will be going to the Barely Bears Tues-Thu for just a few hours in the morning. I'm hoping preschool helps Blake with his vocabulary and help teach that little booger to sit still! Blake was excited about his back-pack and even packed trains in it! Braden was so cute, he did not want to drop Blake off, but understood :)

Surgery Day

After weeks of testing and working with an ENT for Blake it was decided he would need surgery. Blake has enlarged adenoids & tonsils that would be removed and clogged ear drums that he would need tubes put into place to help drain. Unfortunately the only day available to do Blakes surgery was on his birthday, so we celebrated a week early this year! Blake was such a trooper and after a few hours in recovery he went home with Josh and I. The first week my poor little guy was in pain and didn't want to eat that much, but we managed to keep him hydrated. He didn't really even care to have the ice cream and popsicles I thought he would love. I'm happy his surgery went well and everything looks like it healed great!

Speech for Blake

Since Blake was almost 2 I've told my pediatrician he will need speech. They proceeded to tell me a lot of kids don't talk well until 3 and to wait until then. Well I still went for a hearing test at that time, just in case, and it came back good! Now that we are close to 3 I went back to the DR for a follow up. Blake has more words now, but not a lot that other people can understand.

We are trying to figure out what steps we will need to take for Mr. Blake. We had a woman come out to the house from early intervention to see if Blake qualifies through the state for speech therapy. I had to answer tons of yes or no questions and depending on his percentage he scores he may or may not qualify. This test is so hard I think for moms to answer the questions because above everyone I know what Blake is saying and what he really does know...
For example there was a question if he can point out objects in a picture book...well yes he can. Later down the line I told her he won't sit still to listen to a book with me. She said well you said he can point to objects in a book..I said yes he can but he is not sitting there, he is running around answering 1 or 2 at a time. So in the beginning Blake did not score low enough to qualify until she thought it would be best to change the answer to that question to answer more questions....then he did score right at 50% which is what he needs to qualify.

The two women who came out to review Blake will now make a action plan for him. Since Blake is so close to his 3rd birthday he most likely won't be getting any help with early intervention, but they will give his action plan to the public schools so hopefully he can qualify to get speech with the public schools.
Good thing he is so dang cute...his looks may just have to get him through life! :)

Mini Bears Preschool

Braden started Mini Bears Preschool program today. He is so excited to go to school! He is so ready to have an activity without mom and this will be so good for my little social bee! Braden loves to socialize and talk with everyone, so I'm hoping he does great!

San Diego 2009

We planned a San Diego trip this year with our favorite neighbors across the street. The first day we hung around Belmont Park and let the kids see what the ocean was all about. The boys decided to get right in the water...without their swim trunks! Needless to say they were a bit cold and had to drive back to our hotel in their underware.
We planned a day at Sea World. Braden was so excited to meet Shamu he had been talking about it for weeks. As soon as we walk into Sea World he said where is Shamu, take me to meet him! I think he thought we would be hanging out with him all day :)...as soon as Braden realized this was as close we were getting to Shamu..we moved on with our day. The boys really liked the Elmo playworld and Blakes favorite ride was the Elmo ride, he would've rode that thing all day long if we let him. And of course he loved Elmo!

The next day we spent most of the day at the beach. Braden did so good riding the waves in on the boogy board!

4th of July Fun

This fourth of July we laid low and played right here in Coolidge. We went for a BBQ and swim at our neighbors house with most of the block and all headed out for the fireworks at the ballpark.

Braden celebrated his 4th Birthday on June 26th. Braden is such a gift to our family, I couldn't imagine my day to day without him. He is always eager to help me whether it be fold laundry, help with the puppy Kadee, or help out with his little brother Blake. He is so eager to learn and ready to get started on preschool this year!

We had a pool party for his birthday this year at my in laws house. Braden was so excited to have all his friends and family come together for him.
This year instead of a pinata we did a balloon pop...and this was a HIT! All the kids had so much fun trying to pop their balloons any way they could to get their candy!

Our Long Weekend

Our long weekend was spent productively...

We drove to Lake Havasu (yes again) for those of you wondering...and we picked up a wonderful gift from cousins Daniel and Angie Husted. When we were up in April they told us to take down and take home their playground set that their kids are outgrowing. We did not have any way to haul it away then and there, so we planned a trip to go back and get it.

Hubby decided to repaint the playground set before we put it back together, and so we did...

Braden's 1st Dentist Visit

Braden had his first dentist visit..and did great!! We talked about everything the dentist was going to do before we went so he was ready and would hopefully do everything they wanted. Well he did! We went in and they wanted to take pics of his teeth, how you bite on those little films, with a little coaxing from the tech he did all the pics. Then it was time to sit in the chair and put his glasses on. The tech (Jenn) cleaned his teeth and then we waited for the dentist. The dentist poked around and counted all his teeth..and no cavities!!! Braden and Blake both got tooth brushes and a token to get a prize out of the machine when we were done!

Ball Park

I love going to ball parks for different games. We were doing big boys (Josh's) softball league. Now its T-ball for Braden, and softball for the Lillie girls across the street. The boys enjoy going to their games to run off energy and watch some ball!!

Lake Havasu

We went to Lake Havasu this past weekend to visit and enjoy family. The kids always love it there because there is so much to do and so much land to run and roam!

The first day we took the kids to The London Bridge and road paddle boats under the bridge. After the kids enjoyed snow cones and enjoyed the sites.

The second day we hung out around the Ranch and the men, and Angie went on a 5 1/2 hour horse ride. We enjoyed watching them get all the horses ready and some kids even got on the horses. Back on the Ranch we enjoyed hours and hours of looking at all the animals, and going on ranger rides. A few kids tried swimming, but it was COLD, so that was short lived!

The third day we went to cousin Daniels before we headed home. Daniel had these 2 goats that were so cute! One was a baby and the other will have 2 babies in June! One of their horses is also expecting a baby! I can't wait to go back and see all the new babies!

Braden has started his second year of t-ball. Last year we started him even though he was still 2 years old (almost 3)...and he did OK. This year he seems to enjoy it a lot better! He is on the green team this year with 9 other little boy and girl dragons. It is so funny to watch all the little ones run around to get the ball and then all end up in one big dog pile together.

Easter 2009

Easter snuck up on me so quick this year we didn't start to talk about Easter until a couple of days before. The Easter bunny came to our house and hid the boys' baskets and Easter eggs for all the kids. Braden and Blake searched the entire house and looked in all of their favorite hiding spots for hide and seek for their baskets. They finally found them in our downstairs bathroom shower where the Easter bunny hid them.

Then we had some family over for a yummy breakfast and egg hunt for all the kiddies in our backyard. We let Blake and Tate out for about 30 seconds so they had a shot at getting a few eggs before we released the wolves!

Egg Coloring

We had all the kids over for the egg coloring again this year. Everything is funner in numbers! Us mama's thought 3 dozen eggs would be plenty for 5 kids to color, but we were wrong, next year we will need to do a dozen per kid. All the kids were ready to color more more more. Jaycie was a sweet baby girl and was content just to lay in the swing and watch all the chaos from a distance!

Beginning of Easter Festivities

The boys were invited to a birthday party for one of our neighbor friends. They had a big inflatable water slide and jumpy. The boys were a little cold, but they had fun anyways :). They also had a Easter hunt for all the kiddos 6 years and younger at the party. Notice I didn't call it a egg hunt, because there were many goodies for all the kids to find. What a great party idea for April all the kids had a blast and it got them warmed up for the next weekend!

Paint Lipstick

Tonight Braden had his cousin Hunter over to play and they saw it! Orangey is dead they yell down the stairs. Orangey is what they call the orange fish is Braden's room. I'm like oh no he's not, he's sleeping. No they yell back at me we shook the tank and he's not moving! UGH! Don't look at Orangey anymore he's sleeping! The boys continue on and play with other things, we have dinner, and I forget about Orangey. When its time to settle down and go clean Braden's room it starts up again. The boys every 2 minutes come downstairs to tell Josh and I updates on Orangey.

This went on every 2 minutes until I insisted Josh go put Orangey in our room until he could go to the fish DR (which is what we told the boys). Thank goodness they think this dead Orangey is going to the fish DR and will be all better. I made sure they did not follow Josh into our room where Orangey is waiting to go to the DR's and Josh flushed him to fish heaven in the seas. So I guess we'll be making a trip to Petsmart tomorrow to pick up a new Orangey! Gotta love a 3 year olds thought process!

I just got home from work (mind you I work a 12 hour shift overnight) and I want to change clothes out of my yucky germ infested scrubs and go to the restroom in peace for a second. I never lock my bathroom door, it's always a free for all with Braden talking about something and Blake on the bathroom counter in the medicine cabinet.....well today I locked my bathroom door for a whole 2 minutes. Immediately Blake is pounding at my door, followed by Braden saying "this is just not my responsibility". I ignore the chaos wishing I was in my bed : ) and Braden continues on "this is just not gonna be responsibility watching him I need you to let Blake in". Sometimes Braden just says the funniest things he makes me smile with his weird comments and the amazing vocabulary of a 3 year old all the time!

Happy Valentines Day!

The boys were so excited I had Valentines Balloons for them waiting downstairs this morning. After daddy left for his massage he had scheduled this morning the boys and I finished up their Valentines Animals they were making and delivered them to a few of our friends. I got a 18 pack kit and I figured it would be more than enough. When we started handing them out on our street alone we almost ran out of them...I didn't REALLY think of how many kids everyone has when we were planning.

A little Drive

We took a little off road drive a few weekends ago with some neighbor friends. We came up on a big rocky mountain that everyone hiked up except Blake and I of course. We stayed back with the dogs, but Josh took Braden all the way up to the top. When Braden came back down he had to let me know that he peed at the top with daddy. On our drive we also found cows just standing on the side of the road, we stopped to mooo at them and Blake loved that! On the way home Braden asked if he could ride in the Lillie's jeep and he was in heaven!

Josh is in the middle of human anatomy online and it is a HARD class! Every Saturday at midnight he has timed quizes to take...they are stressful 30 seconds per question! He needs a B or better in this class to apply for a Physical Therapy school.

I am starting to study for the NET exam so I can apply for a nursing school.

Sewing Project

My first sewing project went pretty well! I decided about 4 months ago to make a taggie blanket for Miss Jaycie and I FINALLY finished after a lot of procrastinating! My mother in law was nice enough to let me borrow her sewing machine to see if I even like sewing before I get one of my own. Josh is actually better setting it up than me : ) ..he's such a good little homemaker! I guess his years of picking up on girls in home-ec have finally paid off!

This year we decided to stay the night Christmas Eve at my moms house. It was so much fun we had a little get together for Christmas Eve with family and then just got to hang out and stay there. It was really relaxing not having to drive all around (which we normally do). Christmas day we went home in the afternoon, took a nap, and then went to Josh's parents for our Christmas with them! The boys had so much fun talking about Santa this year, I love seeing how excited they get!

Christmas Shopping...

I am almost done Christmas Shopping!! Hooray for me!! I'm early this year, it is so nice to be almost done without all the crowds of last minute shoppers. My mom and I went Black Friday shopping, as we do every year. We had fun fighting the crowds and waiting in line with all the other crazy women...well and some men :)! We shopped from 4Am-noon. When I got home Josh was surprised after a few hours of rest I drug him back out in the evening for some Toys R' Us shopping for the boys.

Happy Thanksgiving/Birthday

Happy Birthday Josh! Today was Josh's 30th Birthday! Every couple of years his birthday falls on Thanksgiving. We spent the day with Josh's family today. My mother in law made an awesome dinner, and made Josh a chocolate cake he loved!

We are so thankful for many things this year. We are especially thankful for the newest blessing to our family...Jaycie. She is doing so awesome in the nicu. We hope to have her home soon with the rest of the family. I am also thankful for my immediate family, the boys bring many challenges and smiles to my face everyday.

Baby Girl Robertson

My sister in law had her 4th baby last night at 11:31 PM. Her name is Jaycie and she is adorable! I got to experience another birth of Kristy's and loved every minute. Kristy did such a great job! Jaycie is 9 weeks early, but a strong girl! She weighed in at 3 lb. 13 oz. and she is in the NICU at my work. I am happy Kristy told me this morning I have visitor rights to see her while I'm at work.

Jaycie is strong and already weaning off of her ventilator. Please keep her in your prayers so that she grows big and strong and can come home in no time!

Brotherly Love

The boys have been playing so good together these days! Blake is really starting to play better with Braden and not get so upset about all the rough housing that goes along with playing with an older brother.

The other day I made Blake mad (what a shocker) and daddy wasn't home to console him, so he goes to Braden and gives Braden the biggest hug. Like save me from mommy! It was so cute! I just laughed and we forgot about why he was mad at me :)

Pumpking Carving

The boys really got into carving the pumpkins this year! We got the boys their own little pumpkins that I decided we would do Mr. Potato head pieces, which worked out perfect, it was so easy for them to do. Daddy helped the boys do a big pumpkin.

PS: If your wondering why Blake is wet in all these pics..right when we were getting home he decided to run through our sprinklers in the front yard! He definately keeps me on my toes!

Painting Pumpkins

The boys and I went to Hobby Lobby and picked up ceramic pumpkins and paint so we can make some halloween decorations. Braden got to pick his color, of course he picked blue : ). Since I wanted a halloween color too, I picked Blakes color!

Potty Times

Tonight before bed I had the boys in the bathroom. I sat Blake on the potty to see if he would pee. He did not...I then told Braden to go pee before he went to bed. When Braden was done I said OK Blake lets go pee and sat him back on the potty...and he went!! I'm so happy for him, he went pee on the potty for his first time! Go BLAKE!

Trip to Lake Havasu

This weekend we went on a road trip to Lake Havasu for the Husted Family Reunion. We had a lot of fun, but most importantly the boys had a lot of fun. Braden hits the ground running whenever we go to Havasu. I don't even get to see him for most of the weekend because he is out playing with all of his cousins who he never sees. Blake had fun most of the time..until he got cranky and was DONE the last day! Here is Blake sitting by the Jacuzi, it was a little cold, so we didn't really swim this year. Braden is a early riser! He usually wakes up between 6 and 6:30AM. Well the other morning he comes in my room at 6:30 and is like momma I'm a bumble bee. I was sleeping! I'm like huh, and he is wearing this bumble bee costume! This was his brothers halloween costume from last year, it is size 12 monhts!! Never a dull moment with this kid!

Blake has a few "lovies" that he used to go to bed with. He has a yellow duck that plays music and a taggie blanket he likes to walk around the house with now. But as far as bedtime goes he has changed his mind for his "lovies" for bedtime. He now goes to bed with a fist full of cars and his hummer. No matter where his hummer is in the playroom, he will go get it and carry it into bed when its time...
